To NJ: G Cayden Primeau HYB 83 - 2.5M UFA 2025 (24)
To MIN: C Ivan Barbashev TWF 83 - 1.3M UFA 2024 (27)
Both teams accept. Primeau will split the crease with Cormier in NJ and we will see who comes out on top. Min is good with this as they are going to buy out Hayes, Steel will play 3rd line, and Barbashev will fill 4th line. They get to dump a bit of cap to go after a better middle 6 forward.

Not when Primeau has 2 seasons of development left, I don't see this as fair at all.
That's a hard reject from me.

Not when Primeau has 2 seasons of development left, I don't see this as fair at all. That's a hard reject from me. Just 1 season. And not gonna develop as the backup in minny. Even if he gets plus 1 or 2, it’s a 1 or 2 overall difference for 1.2M cap

This deal is awful on so many levels.

Not when Primeau has 2 seasons of development left, I don't see this as fair at all. That's a hard reject from me. Its not exactly two seasons of "development" left. Its more like 2 seasons of not being downgraded. His upgrades are performance based and he'd get the same upgrade if he's 24 or 27. If he doesn't play better than an 83, he won't improve at all.

FA offers I sent, I would be over cap, they needed to lose some. Just buying out Hayes wasn’t enough. Thought about sending Hayes to NJ to be bought out there instead but that makes this bigger and more complicated than it needs to be.

If dealing with you wasn't so difficult, you might have better success.

I'm not commenting on the trade itself, I just wanted to clarify how goalie upgrades worked. FWIW, I would've said a little sweetener should probably be added going to Minny, but I wouldn't have rejected over it. This trade went through fair and square, and I respect the moderation process.
