Varlamov gets to chase a cup in SJS while NYI get a prospect, 1st & 2nd for Varlamov; who they did not intend to resign. Korenar will be their AHL starter and Dubnyk will hopefully be moved to a contender to get some more assets in return. This moves allows Demko to become full time starter for NYI, which will help him develop the rest of the season and give him a decent upgrade tp be the starter for a while. Varlamov-Jones becomes a dangerous tandem for SJS who is in the cup race. Both teams come out on top.
