We had a great suggestion made by Vancouver Canucks GM to add some incentive and a risk/reward factor to UFA.
Simply put, there will be a lottery to give 3 players UPGRADES & 3 players DOWNGRADES.
The outcomes will all be pre-determined before any signings happen & there will be 12 candidates in total listed on the UFA list, so you are aware who is qualified for the UFA LOTTERY.
There will be restrictions in place to avoid anything too substantial on both the UPGRADE & DOWNGRADE results.
Looking to implement this asap, however it might be a bit late to do it for this UFA period that will start signing tonight. Yet, would like to get some feedback and put up a vote to see if we start this tonight (random players 81-85OA & 23yo+ will be selected as they sign) *OR* start it next season once everyone is familiar with the risks/rewards that comes with signing a UFA.
Heres how it will all break down.
PLAYERS must be 81-85OA & 23yo+ to be eligible
12 PLAYERS will be selected and highlighted on the UFA List
6 of those 12 PLAYERS will be selected via the Lottery
3 of those 6 PLAYERS will receive UPGRADES
3 of those 6 PLAYERS will receive DOWNGRADES

1. +3 & Silver Trait
2. +2

DOWNGRADE RESULTS
1. -3
2. -2
3. -1
