For LAK this makes sense we have so much talent that is getting underdeveloped adding a real star for our top line allows us to develops the talent we have in the system and are wasting moving a portion of it and not waste it so

Gaudreau did not want to stay in CGY so they had to move him and they get a haul back for him Byfield has 26-15-41 in 54GP on the 2nd/3rd line and gives them the 1C of the future and LAK gets to stop killing Josh Norris and his giant deal and play him 1C

Yeah Johnny Hockeys time in CGY has run its course. Happy to get this much needed return and a potential 1C in Byfield along with prospects & a pick. Hopefully can flip Moore or at least bring him back for next year onwards.

Byfield has 26 goals 41 points with a 17% shooting percentage, I don't see why theyd give that up for a guy who is 31. To me it doesn't make sense for the Non-GM team to give up a 22 year old on pace for 39 goals. Maybe if Gaudreau was over PPG but he only has 10 more points than Byfield
