That shouldn’t matter for awards. Awards are for the best player in that category. Raymond did extremely well for himself, but Kakko was still better.
It would be like giving the vezina to a young backup G if they played well for their OA and ice time, or giving the Lindsay to the person who wins the Calder because they did so well for their age/OA.

It would be like giving the vezina to a young backup G if they played well for their OA and ice time, or giving the Lindsay to the person who wins the Calder because they did so well for their age/OA. hell yeah it should - guy was 11 OAs better playing top line mins on the Stanley cup winning team and he produced slightly better defensively than an 81 playing on a 3rd line for a non-playoff team - that to me speaks volumes especially for a Selke

I’m not looking for the result to be changed, that wouldn’t be fair to all the other award votings ever, I just don’t particularly agree with the reasoning behind the outcome, and that’s not because it’s my player. But that’s fine, everyone doesn’t agree all the time lol.
Congrats to Raymond. Hell of a season.
