EDM should be able to garner more for Benson than that and there should be no reason for retention on an expiring $3.5M contract.

Edmontons been trying to make moves and evidently noone is biting. That's not true. I approached him myself as soon as I saw in the chat box he was shopping some guys. He'd just accepted this from Philly before he looked at my PM. lol If this was actually a good deal for EDM, I'd accept it, but all he's getting for a relatively young 89 overall is basically a lesser player, and 2 crappy prospects, then has to retain cap on top of that for an 89 only making $3.5M this season. It's ridiculous. |

We've been talking about a deal for Benson for a while, this one works for both of us A fairly significant downgrade and 2 bottom tier prospect/pick combo plus salary retention is ripping Edmonton off, especially when Benson is on a good contract for this season. |
