We have sent you a private message regarding this matter. Bergeron & Krug DO NOT waive for NJD NJD could not promise that they would stay in NJ for the remainder of their contracts. REJECTED/FINAL

Really unfortunate considering they wouldn't have been moved... This is really unfortunate for both teams and plans both teams had moving forward!!!

"1) We stick to our word with FAs. I came to Panarin to make sure he'd be comfortable with moving and we knew that he wanted to play with Hughes which is why we asked if he'd waive if Hughes was in the trade. Since Panarin said no, I immediately nixed that deal and came up with something else.
I almost never trade players I sign from FA for at least two season, you know that. But this was a different circumstance because I knew that Panarin decided to come here so that he can play with Hughes.
2) We can not promise that they will stay for the remainder of their contracts (I mean, they have the choice in deciding if they want to, they have to waive), what I can promise is that neither will move unless they are fully comfortable with it and I will ask the team they could move to talk to you and them about why they should go to said team.
If we go to them and ask if they will waive and they decline, we will do exactly what we did with Panarin and nix the deal."

"okay its a great deal on your end for sure man but they will not waive due to the fact that NJD may trade them again before their contracts end - even though they have the right to not waives (which they are exercising now)"
- Look I am not the bad guy, I am protecting the players rights. NJD said he could not promise that he wouldn't move them. Thats all I need to hear. Then after the decision is made not to waive, he wants to backtrack saying he wouldn't trade them - does not work like that

Really unfortunate considering they wouldn't have been moved... If you’re willing to move Hugh’s, aren’t you ready to move anyone. 🤣

Keeps it realistic. No point of NTC's or NMC's if they don't get exercised once in a while

Don't get to choose anymore guys Players choose to waive clauses all the time. The deal just has to make sense to them. That’s the point of a PR in leagues, to act on behalf of the players.
