I like the idea but you have to give something for the rights plus that if you want him. So do a 2nd for the rights and prospect if he resigns. But you have to lose something if he decides to go fo FA

I don't see how rights are so valuable. They've always been booster picks at best.

It's more the fact that Brodie's an 87 for me than anything else. Elite players should be worth something, FA or not.

Brodie made it clear he wants to test UFA regardless of where his rights end up. So I am good with this but Nashville Predators GM is moving Noel for nothing so its his call if he still wants to go through with it.

I'm only one mod and I happen to think Brodie's rights are worth more than a 71.

I am all about sign & trades, but the return has to be equal. Since Brodie has been clear about his intentions of hitting UFA, then this is basically a AMATEUR B/O so I would still be okay with it, even though it makes zero sense for FLA

And that wasn’t fair value at all after he resigned in Florida. At least I think he resigned there. This trade doesn’t matter to me whatsoever if Florida wants Brodie he can basically give me any minor leaguer who he has signed for his rights. Up to him though

Up to him though Yes, difference was Brodie notified CGY he was testing UFA, while Spurgeon notified MIN he would not resign in MIN. You can ask Nashville Predators GM himself, Spurgeon extensions was not an easy negotiation & he had to convince Spurgeon to sign. The contract was a slight discount on fair market value.
