I reject only because LA's trade block indicated they wanted top 4 D right now and they want to be competitive now. Westerlund, while good and can potentially be that, doesn't give them what they want.
Otherwise the trade's fair.

Westerlund, while good and can potentially be that, doesn't give them what they want. Otherwise the trade's fair. Westerlund will be slotted top RD along side Martinez to maximize his development. So understand the hesitation but this clears cap while giving LAK their Norris candidate for the long haul.

I don't know if I'd call Westerlund a Norris candidate, I don't see it. But, I mean, it is Jeff Carter and it's not like he's top shit anymore.
I'd like to hear what others think?

I don't think LA gets much out of this.
Westerlund is nice, but at the end of the development, he's looking at being just an 84 if averages +2 for the next 3 seasons.
If it was Westerlund for Carter straight up, it would be close, but LA giving up a 2nd and Clifford as well makes it a reject for me.
To get name players from no-gm teams you gotta overpay.

This is fine. Wait till 2022 when carter is an 80 still getting paid that much. Then this looks great for LA

Looking ahead, LA is going to get a top-four D while Carter gets downgraded and is still getting paid a ton. Accept

If westerlund was 18, sure. But he’s like a late/mid 1st rounder. I’m rejecting

So it's 3-3 mod wise right now.

The only problem I have with this is that I feel like zona is winning this trade by a fair margin against a non Gm who could still compete. Westerlund isn’t quite enough. We can’t predict what’s gonna happen in 2 years. Jeff carter could still be solid and not downgrade too much ya never know. I’m gonna reject. Sorry boys.
