Us Admins have been discussing a few adaptations for the league moving forward and need league assistance to come to a final decision on one.
We are having difficulty deciding if rewards for the Presidents Trophy winner & Stanley Cup champs is fair, & if so, what the reward(s) should be.
These options are what we are left with:
1. BOTH Stanley Cup champs & President Trophy winner receive an additional +1 MPU & +1 APU to use in that offseason
2. ONLY Stanley Cup champs receive an additional +1 MPU & +1 APU to use in that offseason
3. NO REWARD FOR EITHER
PLEASE SELECT ONE OPTION ONLY*
(poll will close once DRAFT begins)

My argument for no compensation is if they’re the best team in the league then they shouldn’t get something to make them stronger than they already are. Chicago won 3 times in a row (I think), it makes it even harder to even compete with them when they’d get an even larger advantage from winning.

But then we got the situation like Bolts, where they won the Cup then finished out of the playoffs the following season, and really didn't change his team that much. It was similar to my Knights in our inaugural season too; won the Cup then somehow progressively got worse, despite the allotted upgrades. It's not really that much of an advantage giving them 1 or 2 extra upgrades IMO.

To that end, I do agree, but I also don't think that one extra upgrade in each category is going make that significant of a difference to the competitiveness of the league really.

Upgrades only make teams better on paper. Ovi got a ton of upgrades last year and had a much less impactful season. I like the idea of a reward for prospect upgrades more than anything because top teams end up with a garbage prospect pool. So it's a fair reward for icing a good team, I think.
