Wait so if Buffalo also acquired an 81 in this deal and the overalls matched up does this make it fair lol? Thats a legit question btw. Just curious Nah the deal should look something like this IMO To RW Patrick Kane SNP 96 - 10.5M UFA 2023 - NMC (33) *CHI pays 3.5M CapHit 7.0M RD Jan Rutta DFD 82 - 1.5M UFA 2023 (32) NMC To RD Henri Jokiharju TWD 88 - 7.5M UFA 2026 (23) RW Victor Olofsson SNP 88 - 4.2M UFA 2025 (27) RW Alexander Nylander TWF 86 - 4.5M UFA 2025 (24) BUF 3rd 2023

You and I have different valuations then cause I'm not moving a top pairing dman, top pairing winger and a top 6 winger for a 33 year old and somebody I could pick up from FA

Unfortunately with the way things work with upgrades seems like the value of veterans has diminished. I think Kane is worth a lot too but going to be hard pressed to get that package imo

I'll add in the rest of my 2023 picks, that should cover the difference of Rutta and Mete. We good now?

For starters both of my guys are signed long term, an overall higher than both of those players and Seguin isn't 33 or on an expiring contract. That's not a comparable argument and I'm not looking for the same kinds of trades that Cook is looking for. If we reversed every trade that most teams have done I can bet the majority wouldn't want the other side of the deal. You make a trade based off of what you think your team needs. I think Kane will be more valuable to my team, Cook thinks the package of players will be more valuable to his team, that's the whole point of trading.

I'm not sure why guys are hating on this deal. Two veteran GM's trying to make a deal to improve their teams (in their eyes). Would we all make the same deal? Of course not. We all have different opinions of value. There's no cheating or 'taking advantage' of anyone here. Let the guys make the deal. It's not outlandish. .. IDGAF if there's two vets making this deal or if there are two newbies making this deal, value is value and I dont see it equal here.. Reject Well, I agree it shouldn't matter if they're vets or newbies though, but I'm not quite sure where you see that the value isn't there now with this revised version. 2 younger 88s for a an older 96 is pretty fair. 🤷 I have no issue with this. Accepted/Finalized.

You get the goalie back with the long name (which is an added bonus to your roster) and I get the third overall pick.
