Nylander = Mete + 3rd. 3rd is included because Nylander is signed for 2 more years after this while Mete is signed for just this season plus Nylander is an overall higher. Jokiharju + Olofsson + 3rd = Kane. Olofsson has arguably the best contract on the site, Jokiharju is signed long term, young, and an 88 overall RD. 3rd is included as a little boost to add some value. Not to mention Kane will need a new contract after this season and will likely be asking for a raise that Tampa most likely wouldn't be able to afford. Accepts

so its two 88s = the best player in the league with 3m retained When you consider age and contracts I would say yes.

When you consider age and contracts I would say yes. I know the guy receiving the 96 would say yes The guy trading him is also saying yes... Legit, I get your arguments but at the end of the day he's 33. Jokiharju is 23, and Olofsson is 26. 3 seasons down the line, they both will have more value than him based on age alone. All it will take is one bad season and Kane's value will take a massive blow because he can't receive performance upgrades anymore.

You can play the what if scenario any way you'd like with any player you like. If we want to play with facts, he had 72 goals last year.

Your argument is that he's the best player in the league and you think that he should be worth more than two 88s. And what's the likelihood of him getting 72 goals again? Also, you're only looking at one thing. You haven't taken into consideration age or contracts. If Kane was a 25 year old signed for another 5 years, then yeah, I'd agree this isn't enough but that's not the case. He's 33 on an expiring contract, that affects his value.

I'm not sure why guys are hating on this deal. Two veteran GM's trying to make a deal to improve their teams (in their eyes). Would we all make the same deal? Of course not. We all have different opinions of value. There's no cheating or 'taking advantage' of anyone here. Let the guys make the deal. It's not outlandish.

I'm not hating on the deal. I didn't even reject it. I said so does two 88s = a 96 and Joubran got defensive. I played along.

How did I get defensive? I answered your question with my reasonings for why I believe it would in this scenario.

IDGAF if there's two vets making this deal or if there are two newbies making this deal, value is value and I dont see it equal here.. Reject
