To G Andrei Vasilevskiy HYB 86 - 9.385M UFA 2028 (31) LW Brennan Othmann SNP 84 - 3.0M RFA 2026 (22) To LW Michael Dal Colle SNP 85 - 5.0M UFA 2028 (29) LD Marcus Broberg TWD 80 - 1.0M RFA 2026 (21) Buffalo can use Vasi's cap space for better things and with the breakout of Lagace last season and Vasi's downgrade his cap hit is more of a liability than an asset. Sabres trade Othmann for Broberg to St. Louis in return for them taking on Vasi's contract. Blues have the cap space and with Soogard being traded, they can use Vasi to mentor Hofer. Sabres currently had Othmann on their third line and wasn't able to use him how he should be used. Broberg will be in the NHL with Buffalo instead of trapped in the AHL with St. Louis & Accept

This seems like dog shit no? Almost 9.5M for an 86 goalie is pretty dog shit. Like the Bryan Bickell trade Chicago made to get out of his contract, Buffalo needs to do the same. Chicago lost Teravainen, Buffalo is losing Othmann.

That's a reject from me... An 86 & an 84 (1 YL development) for an 80 (2 YL development)?
That's a crap deal man. Sorry.

I don't really have a problem with it, but it probably wouldn't hurt to send a little bit more Buffalo's way. That Vasilevkiy contract is brutal though

I added in Dal Colle. Buffalo should have to pay for moving Vasi's contract. I guess Vasi = Dal Colle and the difference between Othmann and Broberg equals Vasi's contract

I’m still rejecting. This is almost the same as Cooks deal shouldn’t be dumping salary onto your 2nd team. Seems kind of greasy to me

This deal makes sense for both teams despite me running both. Blues have the cap space to take on a bad contract and gain assets out of it and Sabres needs the cap space and has extra assets they could move to do so. Not to mention, Vasi needs just one good year to get boosted back up and the Blues d-core is slowly becoming stronger and stronger so they could help his Sv% increase and thus, his overall be boosted back up.

Vasilevskiy also only has 2 years of performance upgrade eligibility to be upgraded then he can only downgrade.
This just my opinion. I rejected Cooks trade and this is almost the same without the clause

2 accepts - 1 reject and 1 reject for the old trade It's 2 rejects... I agree with Nucks on this one. Pawning off big contracts on your second team isn't what they're there for.
