No, of course not cuz then you'd have to agree with nearly everyone else that your Doughty trade was shit. 😂😂 I’ve already agreed that the DD retention was too long. That’s over and done with. That’s when a rule should’ve been proposed about a cap on how long retentions can be. But instead you’re bitching about Jankowski for 600k? Who gives a damn? I agree that it should've been addressed then, but I can still put in suggestion to have it changed. That's what this board is for, isn't? 🤨🤔 Obviously I give a damn. 🤷 |

I would agree to a salary retention limit for sure, meaning a limit to the number of years you can retain on a single contract. I think most people could probably agree to that. I just personally don’t care if a trading team wants to waste their few retentions on something small. Wether it’s in DD trade or a Jankowski trade 600k retained doesn’t affect the league, because the end results are the same. He’s not going to be able to stock up on Jankowskis and undermine the cap somehow.

Cuz, say your DD trade had gone through, and, in FA, everyone offered all 90+ players $6M (which I would have encouraged everyone to do based on that deal btw), that would make all, existing, 90+ player's contracts that are over $6M, complete shit. |

Yeah, I understand what you’re saying but, just because the current team getting the player is only paying X amount, that doesn’t change the market. DD is still being paid 10m to be a 90+ player. It’s just someone else footing the bill. Which could maybe be considered borderline collusion. Hence why I think there should be a cap on length.
FWIW I don’t think it would have had an effect on FA, because crazy people gonna pay, what crazy people gonna pay
Point still stands though, there should probably be a limit to length.
