Morand and Lacomb (next year) will just be for my AHL team as I don't see them getting to the point where they'll be consistent roster players. 1st round pick has a chance of being an NHLer in time.
Ducks and I have been around a long time and know how to run a team.

This deal makes no sense lol What doesn't make sense? Am I giving up to much or too little for a 1st rd pick? Ducks are in a garbage spot with how weak my forwards are and I'm probably punting this season and playing young guys to hopefully be more competitive moving forward. I didn't want to trade Manson, he's actually one of my favourite players but seeing how other teams were trading 1st rd picks for guys 81-82 OA and 22 yrs old, seemed like a good trade for me long term. Manson or Shattenkirk wont have a place in my top 4 next year with Heinola hopefully getting decent upgrade. It's either sign a bunch of Free Agent forwards right now from the compliance buyouts or wait until next off-season. I'm hoping 1 season of losing helps me get some decent upgrades for my young forwards. Maybe get lucky in draft lottery too. My team is in the worst spot, neither really good or really bad. Also, I hope the Canucks suck ass, so it makes the pick better. If it's a bad trade, let me know that too.

If it's a bad trade, let me know that too. You're trading the best player and two prospects for a 1st and you take on two bad contracts in the process. Look at what I got for Olofsson as a comparable.

Tampa Bay Lightning GM, When did you trade Olofsson, I can't find that trade. Also, Canucks Gm liked the trade but his vote doesn't count

I thought someone might think the prospects were too much. Morand will never play in the nhl on my team. LaCombe only has a chance if APU is used on him. I have 2 other 65+ 19 yr olds, who are forwards, who I would rather potentially use APU on next year. Pretty sure Lacombe can only be a 69 OA at best after 1 season. I'm not that lucky to get a +4.
The contracts are to keep the money comparable and they are done after 1 year. I also need to get to the cap floor. I'm super close and this way I don't need to make another trade or sign someone.
I don't mind taking on a contract that helps out another GM either. It's not long term, so it doesn't handcuff me at all. Only thing that might hurt is having too many contracts.
If it's a bad trade and hurts people's valuation of shit moving forward, I understand if it needs to be rejected.

Just giving my two cents as to why it doesn't make sense and you know as well as I do that I'm right. That being said, it's two vets making the deal and if this is what they want then this is what they want.
