Per rules above, NMC will also waive if they are bought out. Only need PR to waive NMC if they are going down to minors.

buyouts are unconditional, the player is being paid to not play for that team.

also any player you b/o cant be signed by you until next offseason

Yandle, Suter, and Parise were all bought out while having an NMC

Yes, but they still had to waive their clauses in order for the team to buy them out. Also, in the case of Suter & Parise, they held out and refused to waive their NMCs to be put on waivers for at least 1 season before they recanted & moved on.

I love how a certain contingent of folks preach "realism", and cite the CBA constantly, but only when it's convenient for them. lol It also shouldn't be that easy to get out of a clause for GMs anyways, especially when they signed the player to the clause themselves, or they traded to get the player with the clause and didn't stipulate they were not honoring the clause. Especially on a paltry contract like this one that has an NMC for the sole purpose of being able to get a discount on the player's salary to put him in the minors without waivers.
