I see what some of you are saying, and don’t think these SAME conversations didn’t happen in PM. But at the end of the day, I don’t want a 10m contract other than Kopi. And if you don’t have a willing trade partner, willing to pony up the key points in this deal, than you gotta do, what you gotta do. I wanted to get younger, spread around the depth, get strong D prospects, and ditch the albatross. This accomplished that. Phanuef is off the books next year, and I’m not going to need cap for negotiations for bit.

This may be more of a general thing but why does retention matter after 2025? I thought a compliance buyout comes available then. Unless I'm missing something about that. So couldn't you just buy Doughty out then? I can't speak on the trade because I suck at evaluating players. I just don't understand the retention after 2025.

Why would you buyout a 5.5 Doughty Joubran should have know better to even allow this to be posted lol. I think kings best bet is to put a Doughty trade block up and see what his best offer is. Just let gms post their offers in the block. These guys are bums and are overrated because their are a lot of leaf fans in here |

Well, you ain't appeasing me... 😂😂 As Jackets suggested above, there's no reason for Kings to be paying for the duration of the contract, no matter how many picks you pile on. Kings is still going to be on the hook to pay that even if Doughty ever got bought out. That's not fair to the Kings. 🤷 |
