Ron Francis: This is just a statement from our owner, but I approve this statement. I'm also not taking any questions. "The Seattle Kraken is not just the league's invariable smorgasbord for young players that you can just take from. We are an expansion franchise. We have veterans, and youth, and value our young players just as much as you do; probably even more so since we're not Vegas. We will not be completely selling our youth for a "win now" senario, but we will always be striving to improve our team. If you want to be asshats about the age of a player, that's your perogative, but so will we. Just keep that in mind when you offer us a 32/89 that makes $11M+ and all you want is a 23/85 that makes $2M-$2.5M. That's not going to happen. If any GM, or owner, decided to do that, it'd be foolish. So, if you think that of me, or my staff, you can kiss our collective asses! Cuz, just like you, we're not going to give you something for nothing.. yet many of you seem to think that every single deal it's going to be like that for you. Well, it's not, and won't be from me, in general, or the Seattle Kraken in this league. Period. If you don't like that... Tough shit. It's not like many of you have done me the same courtesy, often, if at all... So why should I do it for the majority folks that haven't?"

I'm actually trying to bring light to the fact that it is happening and it is the base of every single trade offer in the league, and it's bullshit. Everyone and their dog wants picks & prospects.... But, for nearly everyone, that's ALL they want when you look at they're trade blocks. 🤷 You can't have a sustainable league when nearly everyone is "rebuilding" and only wants picks & prospects for their players. |

If it’s the basis of EVERY offer, and EVERYONE only wants picks and prospects, how are ANY deals getting done at all?
I just took on SIGNIFICANT cap this offseason, and traded away plenty of picks. You’re full of it. And you’re just frustrated because YOU haven’t been able to get deals done. Don’t make it a league issue when it’s not

I wasn't necessarily talking about you. So, it is a league issue when only 90% of teams only want picks & prospects and the rest are stuck cuz they either don't have the prospects or they're an older team. No one takes that into account at all. 🤷 It's just "gimme, gimme, gimme" all your young players and prospects. As soon as a player turns 28, they're "too old"... It doesn't matter what their overall is. Anyone 86 or less, that's 28+ is considered to be "too old" and not worth trading for. Whether they produce and don't downgrade or not.. no one cares. It's mostly all about being, or getting all players, under 25-27. Nothing else matters. The larger percentage of players in the league are over 25, but no one wants them cuz everyone wants all young guys... Well, that's not going to happen unless everyone retires at 27 and fuck reality. 🤷 |

Players don't officially start "deteriorating" until age 34-35, but everyone seems to think guys are invalids by age 28. "I want all guys 25 and younger." 🙄 Fuck off. 🖕 Cuz so would anyone else, but that's not the reality, and it's bad GMing.
Get your heads out of your collective asses and actually be real if you want reality. You allow those shit FC deals, or picks for salary cap, cuz "they do it IRL", but you can't be realistic when it comes to offering fair value in trades cuz you're getting offered a 32 yr old that's equal or better than a 25 yr old... Screw that shit. If you guys want realism... It works both ways, not just cuz you want it to work one way and not the other, at any given time to suit yourself.

And before you guys try to dump on me for one thing or another... I've been VERY clear that certain players of mine are untouchables. It's not a secret, but you guys keep trying to get some of them, as if I'll budge. Yet, I'll approach many of you about someone I want, and you'll try to take me to the fucking cleaners, and refuse to take an older player in lieu of paying any cap on the principle player... What's the fucking difference? When you have the cap space & roster space. 🤷

How is that not a league issue when only a small handful of people in a 32 team league are willing to take on a "significant amount of cap" or trade for anyone over 25? Yeah, we get trades, but it's bullshit cuz team 3 or 4 is paying cap for team 1 or 2... Or both. It's ridiculous. There's a time and a place for cap retention too, and it's being abused. Yet no one cares |

It’s not a league issue because what you’re talking about is YOUR ability to negotiate what YOU deem to be a fair trade.

You’re wrong as I already said just by looking at my own team. So it’s not a league wide thing. Not everyone is rebuilding. Not even close. That’s your fucking thesis right there. I’m not gonna get into everything you’re saying because you just constantly contradict yourself. You’re mad because other teams are looking for the same thing as you? What do you want the league to do about that?
Also, let me get this straight, because your picks are off the table right? But you offersheeted on Yams? At like 7.5M sooo, you can give up picks to steal someone, but won’t move them in a trade? Who’s the asshole again ?
