Seems like you need a new job start your own business lol. I’m saving for a house too Working for the family business that I’ll eventually take over haha. Being 22 and trying to buy a house on my own though is expensive. A townhouse in a sketchy area is now going for around 500k (with cheap maintenance fees) in Brampton. Prices are ridiculous. Really hoping for a drop in the next couple of months. Good for you man. Wish I was smart like you at your age. But you’re only young once so don’t take away too much of your fun

Yes unfortunately I’ll probably be one of the guys to leave. Considering the hard core budget I’ve put myself on (I don’t even pay for music or Netflix) it’ll be hard for me to justify to myself why I would pay. That’s no diss to you either, you deserve to be paid for sure cause you’ve put a shit ton of work into this but I don’t think I’ll be apart of the future of this league. Basically the same for me. In the end you do all the hard work so I totally get doing what's best for you. But unfortunately this will be my last season if it ends up going in that direction.

Well, I don't have a problem with paying really much anymore, but I'm in a better position than was when this first way brooched too.
I think you're going end up running into some issues with some folks and e-transfers as well though cuz most banks still charge a $2-$3 for them, and if it basically costs you $4-$5 than just the $2 for the league. For some folks that's not really going to be worth it. You're going to end up having to ask for $5-$10 just to make it worth it for some to send an e-transfer.

I think I'd be in, depending on the price. As a broadcaster, I lost a lot of work due to COVID, but if it's a fair price I'd probably be willing to buy less beer that week.

Some of the same questions I asked you privately, plus some new ones. (I hope these don't come across as criticisms, they are legit questions as I am interested and curious in this)
1) Are you paying staff from your share, or is that still volunteer?
2) What if a no-GM team wins? Refunds? Discounts for everyone for next season? Other?
3) Are you doing second teams? Do people pay a second subscription for a second team?
4) What is the plan if a paying member gets kicked off Proboards? Will people be exempt from all rules just because they are paying?
5) Are you still doing PR cap league?
6) The cost is the same for people who get Seattle as the people who get Boston/Tampa? Even though the odds of winning real life money are dramatically heightened by getting a first-come, first-serve team?
7) Will you still have affiliate sites? Will they have to pay to affiliate, or will you allow free sites to "advertise" for free on your paid site?
8) Will you reboot or redraft team selections when NHL 21 comes out?
9) Will you be ad-monetizing things like this Proboards page?
10) Youtube will be embedded here so people don't have to go through 3 sites? Or are we running 3 sites at once?
11) Maybe the big question - If this is going to get as big as you are hoping, have you contacted EA, since making money off of someone elses video game is illegal and a violation of EA Sports terms of service/user agreement and permission is likely needed to do so?

Just realized a workaround for this - instead of YouTube, have you looked into Twitch? With Twitch, you can build your subscriptions, donations, etc into the page. You can likely bypass all the EA legal shit, if you simply word things as though you are streaming the game, but subscriptions are required to participate. Then just do everything else here, like you do.

YouTube still works the same, as long as you dont steal the music you will never violate copy right claims unless we start making hundreds of thousands of dollars (obviously not happening)

1,2,3,5,7,9,10 are answered already Answer again so everything is streamlined and clear? Even if its just quotes? I did not see any of those answers in this thread so help a bro out. 4 all guidelines are agreed upon before joining proboards But they are not followed, I guess is my point. Harassment happens on sites, and if someone felt like perusing it, members could be banned from sites like this by Proboards themselves (not admins, actual proboards). If that happened, a paying member would be unable to do things like set lines or whatever else this is for. Separately, Not to mention, if I decided to pay for this site, and I were Mike, I would want staff to actually do something about members harassing me, and stop ignoring the problems, lol 6 not sure what you mean, Seattle isn't part of this league It was an example. We know there are shitty teams, and good teams. Good teams dramatically increase your chances of winning real life money. So taking a Detroit vs. Boston will dramatically affect ones ability to win real life money, even though both members pay the same amount. 11 no infringement unless using the music I'm not talking about copyright infringement, I'm talking about Terms of Service and User agreements. WHen you put on a game, you have those Terms of Service/user agreements. The first line says you agree to use the software for "non-commercial purposes". Making money off of simming an EA game is a violation of that user agreement.

Making money off of simming an EA game is a violation of that user agreement. Everything stays the same, we are only adding YouTube component/subscription If the forum kicks you off then consider yourself out of the league, our guidelines are whatever Proboards/YouTube are Guys who want to contribute can do so and will have a reduced subscription or no subscription cost based on the activity they create via YouTube/HLS content (would love to see guys step up and make a podcast, make videos, any kind of original content that will generate activity for us, which in turn generates income since there is Ad/YouTube monetization based on views) - however the payouts would remain the same for winners The league will be full, so secondary teams won't be an issue. PR will run a team if a GM drops out and there is no immediate replacement. If said PR team wins, then league receives money back for that season. The league will be self governed, with money involved, I don't see anyone taking or giving bullshit for too long without being replaced Yeah ok, I see what you mean, yet thats the real world too so it will be up to a GMs skill to get out of the drain or maintain a dynasty. We already see dramatic fluctuation in the standings every season. The only other payout would be a smaller percentage out to the AHL winner. *BTW there would be a TEAM SELECTION DRAFT come REBOOT Yeah for sure, yet theres is implicit consent agreed upon by all streamers/platforms/developers that maintains a fine line between infringement and fair use. Technically, every streamer that has ever streamed a video game online on ANY platform is infringement of developer user agreements, however due to this implicit consent, almost all content created by streamers is deemed fair use (minus music). Basically, streamers generate a fuckton of money and followers for video games, so while they may make a couple bucks on the side, the overall outcome is the developers winning. Kinda like passing a cop on the road going 90 in an 80 and he doesnt stop you...think of us as going 81 in an 80

Get a patent on this bad boy so nobody can copy you either.
That way if people want to do this they can pay you royalties to allow them to do so.
